The Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals group promotes professional development and community engagement for the chamber’s younger members.
“We work to make Excelsior the lively, busy city that it is,” says Stephanie Weiss, one of the founding members of the group. “We’re looking for professionals who want to develop personally and professionally and be involved in our tight-knit community.”
The Young Professionals created the first annual Excelsior Bar Crawl in June, and they volunteer at community events like Apple Days in September. They’re currently working on a collaboration with area high schools for a mentorship program, providing job, internship and college-prep mentoring to high school students.
“Our group is all about being involved and giving back to our community,” says Weiss.
The group meets the second Wednesday of the month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 37 Water St., Excelsior. Happy hour meetings are the fourth Wednesday of the month from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.; location varies.
