Perfect for the holiday season, Oliver! tells the tale of a courageous orphan seeking a better life. After escaping the drab confines of an orphanage, he falls in with a gang of pickpockets, but Oliver isn’t fit for a life of crime.
As the first successful musical adaptation by Charles Dickens, the production puts a spin on his beloved Oliver Twist. Through song, entertaining characters and heart, Oliver’s journey showcases hope overcoming evil. Director Kira Lace Hawkins believes this is one of the reasons the Minnetonka Theater chose Oliver! for the holiday season, gathering together professional and community actors to bring the story to life.
“I’m really excited to work with the talent that Minnetonka has to offer. It’s a rich community theater, and it’s exciting to be a part of that in this director role,” Hawkins says.
