At a newly opened school in Minnetonka, students ages 6 through 10 have the unique opportunity to spend time learning together. Acton Academy Twin Cities brings all elementary students together for Socratic discussions and hands-on learning. According to the website, “In addition to individualized curriculum, all ages of students work together in groups.”
What sets Acton Academy apart? “Each student that walks through the door is on a journey in life to find their calling,” says co-founder Melissa Bell. The students are encouraged to use critical thinking skills to solve their own problems and initiate their own learning, with adults providing guidance as needed. Opened just last month, Acton wants to help students become self-reliant and capable.
