My House Fitness, a Florida-based health club, opened its first Minnesota studio in downtown Hopkins in March, offering members something different from the standard open-gym concept.
Instead of requiring a monthly membership fee, My House Fitness in Hopkins offers one-on-one personal training, small-group training with up to four people, and larger group fitness classes—and each session is priced individually depending on the package you choose. A nutrition program is also available, where clients can choose among different meal plans that are designed to fit varying lifestyles.
“We want people to change their lives for the better, and part of that is exercise and fitness, and part of that is nutrition,” explains franchise owner Carol Wickoren.
She says this personalized training model and the small, four-person team give My House Fitness a specialized approach to help clients get results. “We also want people to have fun, so working out becomes part of your lifestyle versus something [you] have to go do,” says Wickoren.
My House Fitness also offers free wellness workshops, from a fact-versus-fiction series (for example, what really are the facts about gluten?) to topics like women’s health and hormones.
