Patty Carmody Smith is the local mixed-media artist behind the colorful creations of Carmody Art. From meaningful mosaics to sculptures with a story, Carmody Smith’s work is full of thought-provoking flavor. She mentions that her style is process and discipline, which is evident as one peruses the pieces she’s put together. Each creation is crafted with individual intention in her Minnetonka studio.
Currently, her art is on display at Your Art’s Desire frame shop in Minnetonka. June 7–8, Smith will be teaching her papier-mâché and sculpting techniques at a Minnetonka Center for the Arts’ workshop. This is a great way for artists of any level to dabble in a new dexterity. Carmody Smith’s studio is available by appointment only.
