Some books catch our eye more than others. With three new children’s books that revolve around a family of fictional characters living in Minnesota, this series makes us feel right at home.
Fish On Kids Books, a series written by K.J. Houtman, describes the adventures of a Lake Minnetonka-based family as they fish, camp, hunt and embrace the outdoors. With a background in fishing and encouragement from her sister, a teacher, Houtman released three of her books this past fall. Each story centers around Gus, the fifth-grade main character. The books are a fairly quick read, running around 60–80 pages, and target a second- to sixth-grade audience.
