Krista Fragola, owner of Maha! Boutique in Wayzata, says that when it comes to fall fashion, always stick to the classics.
“My recommendation would be to invest in a new black cashmere sweater each fall,” Fragola says. “It’s worth spending the extra money on quality materials that won’t pill.”
Fragola says cashmere is timeless and extremely versatile—a black sweater can be worn to dinner or to drop the kids off at school. You can wear it with anything from a long skirt to denim to shorts in the springtime.
A trendier, yet still classic, look this fall is the poncho cape. Fragola says this is huge for fall this year, especially in plaid patterns like those of Burberry or Ralph Lauren.
Fragola says capes go best with denim—for a more casual look, opt for ripped jeans; to dress the look up, choose a pair with a dark wash.
For shoes, Fragola says statement boots are still on trend. Jewelry, she says, is much more subjective. “I think jewelry really personalizes your look and makes it your own,” she says. So choose the ring, necklace or bracelet that you feel best in.
