Molly MacDonald started working at the boutique as its Jill-of-all-trades. She counted inventory and kept an eye on the shop when then-owner Bob Mitchell was out of town. That was almost nine years ago, and MacDonald began the process of purchasing the business and running the show for herself four years ago.

Since then, she’s been to Italy twice (aiming for a third trip this year) and to showrooms in New York, not only to cultivate her eye for “high-quality, last-forever” items, as MacDonald describes them, but also get a feel for them.

“I remind people that we’re sleeping with our eyes closed, so [the linens] have to feel incredible,” she says. “It’ll look beautiful just because they’re great pieces, but it’s really about a feel.”

MacDonald says that her current obsession is linen. “Not linens, but linen, which comes from flax. It’s a different plant than cotton, and it’s the original sheet.” She also speaks to its versatility: Not only does linen offer a cool sleep in the summertime, but it’s a warm sleep in the winter. “It’s very European. It’s becoming a little more mainstream and it feels great.”

Whether you’re in the market for Italian cotton, French or Belgian linens, Portuguese towels or domestically made pillows, Lussuria Lini can help you reach the highest level of comfort.
