Excelsior is in for a world of change. The waterfront town has development plans for a hotel, a grocery store, a steakhouse, a library and Mexican restaurant.
“I think [the developments] are going to create a lot of excitement about the town,” says Linda Murrell, executive director for the South Lake-Excelsior Chamber of Commerce. Murrell says the new developments will fill in some of the empty niches in the Excelsior area. The hotel allows tourists to stay right in Excelsior, and the new businesses give the area a fresh look.
“I’m delighted that this is all happening kind of in the same time span,” she explains. “It’s going to be a little bit messy with the construction, but we have so much to look forward to.”
