Easter is on April 1—celebrate with your family around Lake Minnetonka. Find some Easter eggs, choose a front pew and then brunch on pancakes and mimosas.
Community Easter Egg Hunt
With over 16,000 candy-filled eggs, the community Easter egg hunt organized by Our Savior Lutheran Church is easily the Twin Cities’ largest egg hunt. Participating kids are divided into age groups: 2 and under, 3–5, 6–8 and 9–11. Admission is free and also includes a puppet show, music and food. (This year’s hunt is the Saturday of Easter weekend.) March 31. All ages. Free. 9:30–11 a.m. Excelsior Commons Park.
Sunrise Service at Wayzata Beach
Rise early for a serene church service with a view (the service includes prayer, communion and music). Wayzata Community Church emphasizes that all—including dogs—are welcome at the unique outdoor setting. For those who like to sleep in, Wazyata Community Church also offers indoor services at 8, 9, 10:15 and 10:30 a.m., and a children’s service at 11:30 a.m. April 1. All ages. Free. Sunrise service 6:30 a.m. Wayzata Beach.
Easter Brunch
It wouldn’t be Easter without brunch. Lucky for us, there are a plethora of brunches to choose from. Make a reservation at BLVD in Minnetonka, CōV in Wayzata, Coalition in Excelsior (all of which offer brunch on Sunday) or your family’s own favorite hidden gem. Remember—calories don’t count on holidays.
