Eden Prairie

Summer is finally here, and it’s time to hang out by the pool and drink cocktails with the ladies. Here is my favorite summer refresher recipe:

Brandy Slush

1½ cups granulated sugar
9 cups boiling water
4 tea bags (I use black tea or regular Lipton)
1 12-oz. can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 12-oz. can frozen orange juice concentrate
2½ cups brandy* (I suggest E&J VSOP)

*You can substitute vodka, gin or rum in place of the brandy if you desire.

Mix and boil 7 cups water with the sugar for at least one minute. Steep tea in the remaining 2 cups of boiling water. Combine tea water with sugar water, and let cool. Add lemonade, orange juice and brandy to the tea mixture. Freeze overnight.
To serve: Fill two-thirds of a glass with the frozen brandy mixture, and top with 7-Up or lemon sour.
