Deb Zeller’s cat Zoey is nothing if not photogenic. The feline, who’s been a member of Zeller’s family since last spring, loves to get “up close and in my face,” Zeller laughs. “Zoey loves my cameras. When I get them out to shoot something around the house, usually my artwork, she has to be right in the middle of everything…she wants be part of the action.”
Zeller is a sculptor, painter and glass artist, but she says photography is only a hobby. “I bought my first nice camera to photograph my artwork,” she adds. “This photo was taken with the Nikon D7000, so it must have been a day when Zoey needed to get in the action of an artwork photo shoot.” Zoey flouts the stereotype that cats are skittish and introverted—in fact, Zeller says, Zoey often acts more like a dog. “She’s a sweet, precious cat. She follows me everywhere and has great manners.” Zoey is also persnickety when it comes to toys. “She shows almost no interest in store-bought toys and is usually quickly bored with the laser pointer,” Zeller explains, “but she loves bubble wrap.”
