You don’t need to be the next Larry Bird to compete in TreeHouse’s second annual Hoopin It Up For Hope free throw tournament series. Even if your shot isn’t on target, the cause is.
TreeHouse, an Edina-based non-profit organization aiming to support and transform at-risk teens, is using this event as an opportunity for people to raise money and awareness for teenagers who are facing difficult times, including issues such as depression, bullying, sexual promiscuity, substance abuse and anger.
Simply form a team of five shooters and get a raise a minimum pledge amount of $100 to compete in one of four different locations around the Twin Cities:
*Bloomington- Feb 26, 2012 at the Mall of America Best Buy Rotunda
*Brooklyn Park- March 4, 2012 at Zanewood Recreation Center
*Plymouth- March 18, 2012 at Wayzata Middle School East
*Minnetonka/Hopkins- date coming soon (check back at TreeHouse’s website)
The finals will take place at the Target Center this spring. If you don’t want to test your shot, you can join a Community Board to help plan your local Hoopin’ It Up For Hope event.
