In my book, the ultimate outdoor summer shindig has four main ingredients. I want to try a variety of different food, savor some sips of wine, veg out to some relaxing music, and—this is a big one—do all that in a green, fertile, picturesque landscape. Is that too much to ask for?
Apparently not. Thanks to the Toast & Taste party at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum (3765 Arboretum Drive, Chaska), we’ll be able to enjoy all those features on the evening of July 28.
Food from the following participating area restaurants will be available: Vincent - A Restaurant, The Strip Club, Trotter's Cafe, Terra Waconia, Spoonriver, Sopranos, Signature Cafe, Sen Yai-Sen Lek, Prairie Bay Grill and Catering, Oceanaire Seafood Room, Restaurant & Bar, Minneapolis Club, Gardens of Salonica, Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant, Crema Cafe, Crave, Urban Eatery, Sopranos, Campus Club, Cafe Maude, Birchwood Cafe, Bryant Lake Bowl and Arboretum Catering.
Wine samples will be pouring from featured vineyards such as Carlos Creek Winery, Northern Vineyards, St. Croix Vineyards and Parley Lake Winery, among others. George Faber and the Icons will be setting the tone with live music. Dr. Al and Sue Zelickson and Gordie and Jo Bailey are official honorary co-chairs of the event.
Reservations are required: $75 for general admission from 7 to 9 p.m.; $125 for patron-level early admission at 6 p.m. All proceeds benefit the MN Landscape Arboretum. For reservations and more information, call 612-625-9875 or check the Arboretum’s website.
