Beat the February Blues with Our Beauty and Style issue

Twiddling your thumbs inside during the Polar Vortex? Grab our latest issue to cope.

While most people dread the gray, slushy weather that this month brings, I’ve always loved February for a selfish reason: It’s my birthday month! Along with celebrating for the entire three and a half-ish weeks, I usually try to pamper myself in some way. My side job as a beauty blogger reminds me to do something unique that makes me feel like I’m taking good care of myself—pedicure, a massage or a facial.

So, what a coincidence that my birthday month coincides with the Beauty and Style issue of Lake Minnetonka Magazine! Two of my favorite things have joined forces to bring you what I think is an outstanding issue.

Take a look at the incredible transformations we saw in our makeover feature. Check out the beautiful, stylish wedding that happened right here on the lake in August. Get a yummy skincare recommendation for parched winter skin. Dig into the restaurant recommendations we have for all you lake-area foodies.

And don’t worry if beauty and style feel a little fluffy to you—we’ve got some powerful stories about education efforts happening in your community! See how the Minnetonka School District is challenging students with its immersions programs. Read about Bob Williams, Excelsior resident and informal city historian. Hear from a Mound Westonka National Merit Scholar finalist about what he hopes to do after he graduates.

Whether beauty, style or education is your niche, we’ve got it all this month. Grab your cup of steaming coffee, cocoa or tea to fight the winter blues, and cozy up in your favorite chair with this month’s issue (and if you see me around the neighborhood, don’t ask me how old I just turned!).

Happy, beautiful February to you,

Nicolle
