Having just recently moved into a new, slightly larger apartment, I’ve been deliberating and systematically scouring antique stores, vintage shops, garage sales and estate sales for new-to-me pieces of furniture and décor. The thrill of finding the perfect gently used frame or a shabby chic, rustic wall hanging is like none other. As my apartment decorum isn’t near completion, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled this summer for new sales in new places to drag my fiancé or sister to on my home furnishing expedition. We’ve hit vintage stores in Buffalo, ventured into antique shops in Edina and scoped out estate sales in St. Louis Park. But this week, we’re stopping by the “State Fair” of rummages sales in Wayzata. The lake area is home to many an estate or garage sale and this one holds its own against them all. Put on by Wayzata Community Church, it gives back while showcasing some treasures of its own. Check it out Wednesday, August 7, from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Thursday, August 8, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Happy hunting!
