Need a last-minute Valentine’s gift? There’s a reason jewelry is a classic—and there’s a new local spot where you can find it, too.

Award-winning Wayzata jewelers (and husband-and-wife team) Patrick Nelson and Mary Kay Mohs, the creatives behind Patrick Mohs Jewelry Studio, have opened their first storefront in Wayzata. For years, “we had been selling our jewelry at other stores, shows and events,” says Mohs. “At that time our studio was in our home. Over time, more and more people wanted to see our studio and meet with us directly. We realized…that we had to have a studio space where we could meet with [clients].”

In November, Nelson and Mohs opened their storefront. “We are incredibly grateful for how amazing the reception from the community has been,” Mohs says. “We love being the place where people come to design and have special jewelry made.” She and Nelson specialize in truly custom jewelry, working with clients’ existing gemstones or suggesting new ones, and focusing with detail and care on every step of the design process.
