Jenifer Zimmer and family have spent many a summer night at the Minnetonka Drive In in Spring Park, but last year, she spotted a photo opportunity she couldn’t pass up. Zimmer happened to visit on one of the drive-in’s Hot Rod and Classic Car Nights, which occur every Thursday in the summer, beginning at 4:30 p.m. She loves what the drive-in represents about warmer days in Minnesota: “A great burger, a cold root beer, windows down to enjoy the sights and sounds of Lake Minnetonka ... A visit to the Minnetonka Drive In is a great family tradition.”
Zimmer says, “I often have my camera along on my daily commute from Mound to Wayzata. Whether it is an eagle, a loon, a turtle, a sunrise, a sunset or a pretty flower, there is always a picture to capture.” She thought her image snapped at the drive-in “is a great tribute to life on Lake Minnetonka—classic, colorful and friendly.”
We couldn’t agree more, and that’s why we chose Zimmer’s image, Minnetonka Drive In, to run on our Last Glance page this month. Congratulations!
