2015 Polar Bear Picnic Sneak Peak

Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come at this popular mid-winter event.

The annual Polar Bear Picnic is just around the corner, and there are activities at the Lowry Nature Center for every winter lover out there. Between ice mini-golf, ice bowling, snowshoeing lessons and Scandinavian kick-sleds, there’s no time for boredom. There’s also snow fort building with tools and tips, and sledding with sleds provided.

For those weary of the winter weather, stop by the bonfire on the ice to warm cold hands. Or check out the fun options for crafts if you prefer to stay indoors.

Feeling adventurous? For a series of three medallion hunts throughout the day, clues are given at the Nature Center at a designated time—look for more info at the event. Finders of the elusive trinkets will win a prize package of generous gifts from local businesses.
